Gorman, Susan Marie (25 December 1950 - 25 July 2010)
Susan Gorman, 59, of Granton died Sunday, July 25, 2010 in the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Susan Marie Brody was born Dec. 25, 1950, in Wisconsin Rapids, the daughter of Harvey Sr. and Mae (Carpenter) Brody. She attended and graduated from Pittsville High School in 1969. Later that year she was married to Michael Sternitsky in Pittsville; they later divorced. In the early 1970s Susan moved to Granton and she was united in marriage June 29, 1979 to Arnold Gorman. She worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory and seasonally at Figi’s in Marshfield. She then began cooking, all the while working nights, and worked at the Casa Loma in Marshfield and Fannies near Neillsville. She also worked as a cook at Country Pines and the Super 8 in Marshfield. For the past 13 years she worked in the bakery at Festival Foods in Marshfield.
Susan was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pittsville. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, fishing, Green Bay Packer Football and bird watching, especially hummingbirds.
She is survived by her children, Sandy (Orville Scheibe) Sternitsky of Marshfield and Brian (Brenda) Sternitsky of Granton, and their children, Brian, Brandon and Brittney Sternitsky; siblings, Gerald Brody of Wisconsin Rapids, Caroline Hicks of Green Bay, Charles (Carol) Brody of Wisconsin Rapids, Harvey Brody (Charlotte Fuentes) of Neillsville and Janet (David) Obermeier of Wisconsin Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, her parents and a baby brother Larry.
Funeral services for Susan will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Joe Weiers will officiate. Interment will be in the Windfall Cemetery in Granton. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home.
Casketbearers are Chuck Hillert, Dennis Hillert, Scott Jakobi, John Krause, Dave Schwake and Chuck Brody Jr.
