Blattler, Kenneth (12 JUN 1942 - 8 JUN 2010)

 

Kenneth "Red" Blattler, 67, of Curtiss, Wisc., entered eternal life Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital with his wife by his side. He was born June 12, 1942, in Marshfield, Wisc. He was the son of Clarence and Mable (Bilderback) Blattler. When he was 2 years old, his father died and Mable married Isadore Bronk, who was the only father he knew. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from Columbus High School. Following his schooling, he joined the U.S. Air Force on Feb. 1, 1962, and was honorably

discharged on Aug. 21, 1964.

 

On June 24, 1967, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield, he was united in marriage to the former Carol L. Pederson. He owned and operated a semi-tractor and was most recently working for Mobile Transport Systems. He retired in 2005 after 35 years of trucking.

 

 Faith and family were central in his life. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a people person.  His hobbies included bowling, golf, fishing and hunting. He was also and  avid sports fan, especially for the Packers.

 

 Preceding him in death were two brothers, Charles and Allen.

 

 Survivors include his wife, Carol Blattler of Curtiss, Wisc.; children,  Konrad (Kim) Blattler, Bartlesville, Okla., Sherry Blattler, West Allis,  Wisc., Stacey (Stephen) McFall, Paragould and Shannon Blattler of Curtiss,  Wisc.; grandchildren, Jakob and Ryan Blattler and Justin McFall; brothers,  Clarence Jr. (Marion) Blattler, Monmouth, Ore., and Francis "Jerry"  Blattler, Helena, Mont.

 

 

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic  Church in Colby, Wisc. Fr. Dan Hackel will officiate. Interment will follow at Sherwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen McFall, Tony  Blattler, Shawn Langreck, Robert Langreck, Lonnie Armbrust and Anthony  Armbrust. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
