Bichler, Peter  (15 NOV 1878-30 OCT 1948)

 

Funeral Services for Peter Bichler Sr., 69, who passed away on Oct. 30, were held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at St. Anthony’s Catholic church. A nephew, the Rev. Fr.  James Felder officiated, assisted by Aloys Zinthefer. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

 

Three grandchildren of Mr. Bichler served as altar boys and the school children and nuns sang. Pallbearers were Leo Theisen, Bert Brown, John Elsinger, Ed Kreuser, Lawrence Davel and George Roth.

 

Mr. Bichler was born in Sheboygan county on Nov. 15, 1878, received his education there, and also was married there to Anna Langers. They moved to Marathon county in 1912 and to Loyal in 1926, living here ever since.

 

He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and he was justice of the peace for Loyal at the time of his death.

 

Surviving besides his wife, are eight sons, Victor of Loyal, Alex of Milwaukee, Arthur and Claude of Wausau, Joseph of Kaukauna, Peter of Kohler, Anthony of Neillsville and Francis of Stevens Point, and three daughters, Mrs. Jim (Hedwig) Bertz of Loyal, Mrs. Ben (Marion) Englebretson of Minot, N.D. and Mrs. A. (Gertrude) Davel of Stevens Point. Twelve grandchildren also survive.

 

Surviving sisters are Sister M. Lucina, Sister M. Adelaide and Sister M. Dominic, all members of the Holy Family convent at Manitowoc, Mrs. Mary Puttler of Milwaukee, Mrs. Susan Schommer of Port Washington, Mrs. Emma Lamb of Waldo, Mrs. Lucy Pirotte of Los Angles, Cal., and Mrs. Theresa Lang of Venice, Cal.

 

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mrs. John Tarkes of Fredonia, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hildebrandt of Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Bichler, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Oberst and John Krick of Belgium, Mr. and Mrs.  N. D. Bichler and Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Feider of Cedar Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Plier of Jefferson, Mrs. William Gruber of Green Bay, Emil Langers and Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Bichler of Milwaukee, Miss Adelaide Bichler of Random Lake, Mr. and Mrs. B. Phillips of Kaukauna, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Linder, Mr. and mrs. Ed Armitage and John Ueberlacker of Wausau, Vincent Davel of La Crosse, and Miss Roselyn Hartung of Neillsville.

 

The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a beloved relative.
