Knight, Ray R. (15 Oct. 1890 - 24 Feb. 1960)

 

R. R. Knight, Sr., died unexpectedly Thursday morning as he was preparing to go to his work for the city of Las Vegas, Nev. Knight, who had been living there with his sister, Mrs. Roy Melberry, for several years, was ? years old.

 

Funeral services will be held there Thursday. The body will then be brought to Abbotsford to the Polnaszek Funeral home, where another service will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and internment will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

 

Mr. Knight was born in Waupaca Oct. 15, 1890 and was a farmer most of his life, except for a short period when he worked in the woods.

 

He was married to Ethel Kurtz, who preceded him in death in 1933.

 

An only son, Robert, of Abbotsford, survives him, and one grand daughter, Kathleen Knight, also of Abbotsford. He also leaves two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services for Ray Knight, who died unexpectedly at Las Vegas, Mar. 1, were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Polnaszek Funeral Home. The Rev. Lawrence R. Faivre conducted the services during which vocal music was provided by Miss Dorothy Kieser and Mrs. Weldon Brown, with accompaniment by Mrs. Faivre.

 

Pallbearers for the internment in the Abbotsford cemetery were Ben Apfelbeck, Kenneth Anderson, Walter Fitense, Kenneth Ingersoll, Archie Melvin and Leo Underwood.

 

Friends and relatives from away came from Waupaca and Wausau.
