Wallace, Daniel Fredrick (24 December 1934 - 8 September 2010)

 

Daniel Fredrick Wallace, 75, of Humbird died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Luther Midelfort Oakridge in Osseo.

 

Daniel was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Neillsville to Kenneth and Dorothy (Holstein) Wallace.  Daniel married Pauline Zimmerman May 14, 1955, in Humbird.

 

Daniel worked for American Motors in Kenosha and operated the Humbird Drive-In and Gas Station during the summer months.  He was later employed at Nelson Muffler for 11 years and National Presto Industries for an additional 11 years.  Daniel eventually retired as a foreman from Northern Christmas Trees after being there for 28 years.  Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the Packers, fishing and hunting.

 

Daniel is survived by his wife, Pauline; his children: Daniel (Jackie) Wallace Jr. of River Falls, Dean Wallace of El Paso, TX, Dana (Linda) Wallace of Lakewood, WA, Pamela Wallace (Michael Way) of Eden Prairie, MN, Dale Wallace (Delta Hermann) of Fairchild, Paula (Randy) Tewes of Eau Claire, Patti Lange (Scott Swatzina) of Augusta and Darrell (Christine) Wallace of Fort Walton Beach, FL; four brothers: Kenneth "Earl" (Mary) Wallace of Chicago, Richard "Dick" (Florence) Wallace of Beloit and Wallace "Wally" (Carol) Wallace and Orin "Butch" (Brenda) Wallace, both of Neillsville; and 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

 

Daniel was preceded in death by his son, Dennis, three infant children and two brothers, Ronald (Phyllis) and Robert.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home in Hixton with Rev. Patricia Trotter officiating.  Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery in Alma Center.

 

Friends called from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
