Haselow, William F. (18 JUL 1870 - 15 JUL 1951)

 

William Frederick Haselow, 80, Spencer, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, July 15, 1951.

 

Mr. Haselow was born in Germany, July 18, 1870, and came with his parents to America at the age of 2 years.  They settled on a farm in Dodge County where he lived until he was 13 years old, attending the rural schools of Dodge County.

 

The family then moved to this vicinity.

 

He was married to Bertha Blado, April 17, 1900, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal.  Upon marriage he took over the management of the home farm.  At the time of his death he had lived on this farm for 67 years.

 

Mr. Haselow was a member of the local Lutheran Church and served as an officer in the church and also in his school district.

 

Surviving are his wife, four sons, Edwin, Loyal; Ervin, Chili; Albert, Spencer; and Elmer, Owen; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Charles, Spencer; Gustav, Loyal; Robert, Loyal; and one sister, Mrs. William (Ida) Kusa, Loyal.  Two brothers preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church on his 81st birthday anniversary.  Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery.  The Rev. Elmer Aalto officiated.

 

Six nephews served as pallbearers, Harold Haslow, John Haslow, Paul Haslow, Vernol Haslow, Arnold Haslow, and Alvin Haslow.

 

Mrs. Romaine Rossow sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "Nearer My God to Thee," with Miss Dorothy Capelle as organist.

 

Among those from a distance who attended the funeral services were Mrs. August Blado and daughter, Jackie, Newell, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Enno Gerjets, Storm Lake, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. LaMont Schuman, Adams, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Graham, Waterloo, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haslow, Spring Green; Mr. and Mrs. George Bredlau, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Haselow and family, Chili; and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Haselow, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haslow and Mr. and Mrs. John Karau, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Yanger, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schwantes, Spencer.
