Rueden, George A. (24 NOV 1897 - 14 AUG 1951)


George A. Rueden, 53, prominent farmer of the town of Holton, died at his farm home east of Dorchester Tuesday morning, Aug. 14, 1951.  Funeral services were held Friday morning at 9:30 at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.  Burial was in the Colby Cemetery.


Mr. Rueden was born Nov. 24, 1897 in Colby where he received his education.  His marriage to the former Vera Anderson of Unity took place June 25, 1923.  They lived in Milwaukee for eight years following their marriage.  Since that time they have resided on a farm east of Dorchester.


He is survived by his wife, three sons, Robert, George Jr., and Russell, and two daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Olivia) Westphal, and Mrs. Eugene (Marilyn) Gloudeman, and two grandchildren.  One sister, Mrs. Melvin Roe, New London; five brothers, Arthur of Abbotsford; Lawrence of Clintonville; Frank of Milwaukee; John and Antone of Unity.  A brother and sister preceded him in death.


Pallbearers were Fred Reynolds, Cliff Wetterau, Ed Hollman, Louis Stelzel, Joseph Intribus, and Reinhold Schaefer, friend and neighbors of the deceased.  Flower girls were Adele Schaefer, Patsy Stelzel, Janet Baronski, Mrs. Ray Bramuker, Mrs. Lucille Ringquist, and Mrs. Joseph Intribus.


Relatives attended the services from Wausau, New London, Unity and Ellsworth.


Mr. Rueden was well known to many people of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) and vicinity.
