Rondorf, Mr. & Mrs. Matt (55th - 1 SEP 1951)

 

The home of Mrs. George Buffington, route 4, Marshfield, was the setting on Sunday, Sept. 2, 1951, for the celebration of the 55th wedding anniversary of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Rondorf, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), pioneer residents of the Town of York Clark Co.

 

All of their children, Frank, Hoven, S.D.; Joe and Al, Greenwood, and William and Mrs. Buffington, Marshfield, together with their families, were present for the occasion.  There are 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  The Rondorfs and their guests all attended a High Mass at 9 o’clock in St. Anthony’s Church in Loyal, with the Rev. Norbert King officiating.

 

Highlighting the celebration was a dinner at noon with 56 guests present.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Rondorf were married Sept. 1, 1896, in St. Mary’s Ridge Catholic Church near Cashton.  They have made their home in Loyal for the past 10 years.  Prior to that time they resided on a farm in the Town of York for over 40 years.

 

Out of town relatives present were Mr. and Mrs. William Baus and Frank Rondorf, Hover, S.D.; Ben Bergren and three children, Mrs. Pete Schmitz, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Flock and John Butzler, Cashton; Mr. and Mrs. Hi Rondorf, Shawano; Miss Carol Buffington and Mr. and Mrs. DuWayne Syth, Milwaukee Harry Rector, New York; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Rondorf, Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rondorf and family and Mr. and Mrs. Al Rondorf and family, Greenwood.

 

Guests from Marshfield included Mr. and Mrs. Donald Buffington and son, Mr. and Mrs. Georg Buffington Jr., Mr. and Mrs. William Michalski, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Rondorf and family, and Mr. and Mrs. William Rondorf and family.
