Wozniak, Vincent (12 JUL 1862 - 15 JAN 1956)

 

Vincent Wozniak, 93, died at the Podvin Rest Home in Stanley Sunday at 4 p.m.  He was born in Posen, Poland, July 12, 1862.

 

When Mr. Wozniak was very young, he came to the United States, settling at Buffalo, N.Y., where he was married to Josephine Templin in 1891.

 

In 1900, the Wozniaks moved to Stanley where he resided for one year.  They then moved to a farm in Mitterhoffer, Clark County.  His wife died Jan. 26, 1944.

 

Six and one-half years ago, Mr. Wozniak moved to the Town of Thorp to live with his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Staszkowski.  In June of 1955 he took residence at the Podvin Rest Home.

 

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Frances) Staszkowski and Mrs. Stella Packolski, both of Thorp.  Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

His body will lie in state at the Plombon Funeral Home at Stanley until Thursday morning at 10:00 o’clock when services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Junction, with the Rev. Edward Sobczak officiating.

 

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery.  The Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 8:45 o’clock at the funeral home.
