Zugier, Mabel (Lueddecke) (August 17, 1919 - September 21, 2010)

 

Mabel Zugier, 91, Athens, died September 21, 2010 at the Colonial Center in Colby. 

 

She has resided at Colonial Center, since April 20, 2002.

 

Mabel was born Aug 17, 1919, in Dorchester, to the late Louis and Amelia (Moder) Lueddecke.

 

She received her education in the Dorchester area. Mabel married Paul Zugier on July 18, 1941. The couple farmed in the town of Holton until retiring and moving to Stetsonville, where they lived until Paul’s death April 14, 1989.

 

Mabel then moved to Athens to live with her daughter, Eileen (Rodney) Ellenbecker. 

 

Mabel was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Dorchester.

 

Mabel is survived by one daughter, Eileen (Rodney) Ellenbecker, Athens; three sons, Marvin (Delores) Lueddecke, Kimberly, Alvin (Chris) Zugier, Kennan, and Duane (Sandy) Zugier, Abbotsford; one sister, Dorothy (Gordon) Anderson, Dorchester; one brother, Lester Lueddecke, Stratford; 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. 

 

Mabel wsas preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her parents and one son, Ronald Zugier. 


Her funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester, the Rev. Bonnie Jacque-Gorecki presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.


The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is assisting Mabel’s family with funeral arrangements.
