Bouquets of gladioli and mums shaded from gold to bronze were prominent in the decorations of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Greenwood at 7:00 o’clock Saturday evening, Sept. 8th, 1956 for the double ring wedding of 1st Lieut. Thomas P. Larson and Miss Ann Marie Warner.

 

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Warner of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Lieut. Larson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lief Larson of Thorp (Clark Co.).

 

A reception in the church parlors followed the candlelight ceremony performed by the Rev. I. J. Tanner, pastor.

 

The bride’s gown of re-embroidered champagne lace over taffeta was styled with a low scoop neckline, empire waistline and full gored skirt.  She wore a white feather hat and champagne colored shoes and carried a white orchid on a lace covered white Bible with stephanotis and white ribbons.

 

Norma Warner, sister of the bride, was attired in champagne lace over taffeta, styled similar to the bride’s and wore a brown feather hat and brown shoes.  She carried a small bouquet of orchids shaded from bronze to chartreuse and stephanotis.

 

Peter Larson of Minneapolis attended his brother as best man and usheres were Dick Warner, the bride’s brother of Chetek, Donald Telford of Thorp and Dave Kalsow of  Chippewa Falls, a cousin of the groom.

 

During the ceremony Mrs. Donald Ellingson sang "Wedding Prayer" and "O Perfect Love," accompanied by organist, Mrs. Al Covell of Neillsville.

 

For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Donald Warner wore a taupe colored silk shantung dress with matching feather hat and brown accessories with a purple orchid corsage.

 

The groom’s mother wore a blue knit dress with pink hat and purple orchid corsage.

 

The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School and the groom of Thorp High School.  He also attended Eau Claire State College and has spent the past four years in the U.S. Air Force, recently located at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia.

 

The happy couple left shortly on their wedding trip and will reside at Warwick, Virginia.
