Chamberlin, Adeline (22 AUG 1869 - 19 APR 1949)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Adeline Chamberlin, 79, of Madison were conducted in the Loyal Methodist church at 2 p.m. Friday, Apr. 22, with the Rev. Lee Holmes officiating.

 

Adeline Lenling, daughter of the late William and Welhemina Lenling, was born at Elmore, Wis., on Aug. 22, 1869. She received her education at Elmore and Milwaukee.

 

She was married to Lot E. Chamberlin on Aug. 2, 1894, at Spencer. Mr. Chamberlin was in the jewelry business in Loyal for 30 years. They moved in 1926 to Madison, where he was in business, He died in 1929. Mrs. Chamberlin continued to make her home in Madison.

 

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Mae) Gustafson of Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Leona) Loucks of Rockford, Ill., and a son, Harlow Chamberlin of Miami, Fla. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive her, as do three sisters, Mrs. George Schoch of Loyal and Mrs. Frank Schoch and Mrs. Henry Rau of Mosinee, and two brothers, Albert Lenling of Wheeler and William Lenling of Wausau. A son died in infancy, and two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

 

Mrs. Chamberlin was a member of the Reformed church in Elmore. She was also a member of the Mystic Workers organization of Loyal.

 

Her death occurred at St. Clare hospital in Monroe on Apr. 19. She had been a hospital patient for several weeks, and her death was the result of the complications of old age.

 

At her funeral the hymns "Nearer to the Heart of God" and "Beyond the Sunset" were sung by Mrs. Ray Prior and Mrs. Calvin Prior, with Miss Donna Mae Gotter as organist.

 

The pallbearers were Alfred Hills, Calvin Hills, J. R. Thomas, Harold Hills, Hal Voight and Jesse Raab.

 

The members of the local Royal Neighbor lodge attended in a body. Mrs. Chamberlin was formerly a member of the Loyal RNA chapter. She was laid to rest in the Loyal cemetery.

 

Those from away attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Gustafson and daughter, Donna, and Lois Richardson of Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Loucks and son of Rockford, Ill., Harlow Chamberlin of Miami Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schoch and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rau of Mosinee, Mr. and Mrs. William Lenling of Wausau, Albert Lenling of Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Hills of Vesper, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Coates of Endeavor, and Mr. and Mrs. Hilar Flad of Madison.

 

The Tribune extends to the survivors its sympathy in their loss.
