Sachse, Arlyne (27 APR 1949)

Before an altar decorated with lighted candelabra and spring flowers, Miss Arlyne Sachse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Sachse of Colby, became the bride of Donald Schultz, son of Mrs. Joe Schultz of Loyal. The marriage took place at the Zion Lutheran church in Colby at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 27, with the Rev. Otto Hoffmann officiating.

Mrs. Rueben Zimmermann, sister of the groom, was matron of honor, and Miss Viola Kozik, a friend of the couple was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his brother-in-law, Mr. Zimmermann, and a cousin of the bride, Laverne Prange. Another cousin of the bride, Norman Sill, sang "Jesus, Lead Thou On" and "The Lord’s Prayer," accompanied by Miss Jean Coull, organist.

The bride was gowned in traditional white satin, fashioned with hoop skirt and a long train, with lace trim and a Bertha collar. Her fingertip veil was fastened to a coronet of orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of pink roses. She also wore a gold cross, a gift of the groom.

Her attendants wore identical dresses of blue taffeta, trimmed with lace, Bertha collar, lace trimmed fish tale bustle in the back and hoop skirt, hats and gloves to match. Their colonial bouquets consisted of pink and white carnations. Each wore a gold heart-shaped locket, gifts of the bride.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, covers being laid for 100 guests. Home decorations consisted of blue and white streamers and bells. A dance was held at Walter’s pavilion, near Colby, later.

The couple left on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, and on their return, will be at home to friends on the groom’s farm, near Loyal.

The bride is the Colby high school and has been employed as a bookkeeper at the Loos Machine Shop in Colby. The groom, a graduate of the Unity high school, served with the U. S. marines on Okinawa, Guam, in China and Japan.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
