Greenwood, Wisconsin (1 October 1959)

 

The West Side Adult Fellowship will meet Sunday evening.  Hosts will be Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Vollrath, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wessel and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wendt.

 

Mrs. Walter Schwarze attended a meeting of presidents of the Women’s Guilds of the United Church of Christ in the Wausau region Tuesday at Merrill.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Adams and her mother, Mrs. Carl Stabnow, spent Sunday in Minneapolis, where they visited Carl Stabnow a surgical patient at the Veterans Hospital.

 

George Haeuser and his sister, Mrs. Margaret Knopp of Burlington, visited in Medford Sunday at the George Krakenberger home.  Their sister, Mrs. Harriett Bradley, who had spent some time at the Haeuser home, left Sunday for Rochester, Minn.  She planned to visit relatives in Canada enroute to her home in Talent, Ore.

 

Miss Geraldine Syth, R. N. of Chicago arrived Friday for a week’s visit.  Sunday she was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Leona Syth, and children, Bernard, Rita and Sun, to Butternut, where they visited their sister and aunt, Mrs. Adeline Thompson.

 

The Rev. James Finch of La Crosse, new district superintendant, spoke at the Sunday morning worship service at Grace Methodist Church and conducted the quarterly conference at the Christie Methodist Church Sunday afternoon.  He was the guest of the Rev. Ethel Nulton.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Karlen entertained Sunday at their home at Owen in honor of the birthday of her mother, Mrs. Emil Noah.  Dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Emil Noah and daughter, Kathleen, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Braun, Mr. and Mrs. George Braun, and Mrs. Clara Liebzeit, all of Greenwood.

 

The Busy Bees met Saturday afternoon in the West Side United Church.  Joyce Albert was the hostess; Carol Schofield was in charge of devotions. The group continued the study of the book, "About Myself."  A discussion was held on a membership drive.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swieso returned Sunday evening after spending a week with their children and other relatives in Milwaukee, Burlington, Columbus and Granton. They were accompanied to Milwaukee by Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Swieso and family, who returned to Fresno, Calif., after spending three weeks with his parents.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dunn and Mr. and Mrs. Ole Moen of Eau Claire were Saturday supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie, parents of Mrs. Dunn.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson and daughter and her mother, Mrs. Christ Keiner, visited Friday evening at Frahner’s resort, near Medford.
