Granton, Wisconsin (29 October 1959)

 

The Granton P. T. A. will sponsor a Halloween party Saturday evening in the village hall for all pre-school children and those through the eight grade.  Games will be played with prizes awarded.  Prizes also will be awarded to the best costumes.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Strey of Loyal, former residents of the Granton area, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with open house from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton.  A dinner for the family and relatives will be served at noon in the church dining hall.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gehrmann Radke and daughter Maxine, of Mineral Point, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Spry and visited with their son, Gary, 10, a patient in a Marshfield hospital.  After undergoing the tests it was decided that the surgery would be advisable in about two years.  Gary has had a heart condition since birth.

 

A pre-nuptial miscellaneous shower is being held Saturday evening at the Victor Braatz home, honoring their daughter, Miss Yvonne Braatz, and Lamar Hardwick, who will be married November 7.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Garbisch of La Crosse were weekend visitors at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Garbisch.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Garbisch and family visited Wednesday evening at the home of their daughter, Mrs. George Gannon, and her family in Spencer.  They helped their grandchildren, twins Debbie and Danny, celebrate their fifth birthday.

 

Raymond Smith of Milwaukee spent the weekend at the Clark Waterman and Beeckler homes.

 

Several members of the Granton Civic Club attended a county club meeting in Loyal Tuesday.

 

Recent visitors at the Paul Lautenbach home were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Berndt and daughter of Milwaukee.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Victor Schlaske of Marshfield visited one day last week with her mother, Mrs. Emma Chubb, at the Paul Lautenbach home.

 

Arnold Garbisch and Joseph Sternitzky spent the weekend fishing at Yellow Lake. They returned home Sunday evening with their limit of northern pike and perch.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Poler were Sunday visitors at the Martin Reinart home in Merrillan.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Meyer of Marshfield visited Friday evening with his mother, Mrs. Rosetta Meyer, and his aunt, Mrs. Anita Landgraf.

 

Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Treu of Appleton will arrive Friday for a weekend visit with her sisters, Mrs. Rosetta Meyer, and Mrs. Anita Landgraf.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Poler were in Eau Claire Monday, where Mrs. Poler underwent an eye examination.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Steinke and Dennis visited one day last week at the Joseph Guay home in Fairchild.  Other visitors there were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Frandorf, Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Arden Luplow of Juneau. The ladies are sisters.
