Sherwood Township (25 November 1959)

Christine Mortenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mortenson, is back in school again after an absence of two weeks with an eye infection.

Roy Waddell, Carl Luedtke, Gilbert Truesdale, Larry Luebke, Jim Brereton and son, Jeff, William Wilson, Fred Hornagold and James Swart, all of Janesville, spent the weekend at the Ralph Short home and enjoyed two days of deer hunting.  Gilbert Truesdale got an eight-point buck, weighing about 200 pounds at 8 o’clock Saturday morning with one shot. The party hunted in the Brushy Ridge area.

Murry Lindsey and son and a couple of friends from Sheboygan spent the weekend with Mrs. William Ottow for deer hunting. The party had three deer by Sunday.

The Cannonville Ladies Aid meeting, which was to have been held at the home of Mrs. George Allbaugh last week Wednesday, was postponed until December 2 because of the funeral of Mrs. Lottie Linton.  Several of her old neighbors attended. A potluck dinner will be served at noon. This will also be the Christmas party, with each member and visitor taking a 35 cent gift.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Feutz and family, Chanute Field, Rantoul, Ill., were overnight guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Feutz, last week Wednesday night.  They had spent a week at their cottage in northern Michigan visiting relatives and deer hunting. Roy, Jr., spent the night with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Raine.

Mr. and Mrs. Chris Feutz had a pre-Thanksgiving dinner Wednesday night, with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Feutz and family in attendance.

Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Krause and daughter, Milwaukee, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens.  Wallace spent two days deer hunting, but wasn’t lucky.  He returned home Monday.  Mrs. Krause and daughter remained for a longer visit.

Mrs. James Waller, Janesville, spent the weekend at the Stevens home.  Mr. Waller stayed in Neillsville with his party of deer hunters.  Mr. Waller and a friend were Sunday night supper guests at the Stevens home, also.
