Humbird, Wisconsin (3 December 1959)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sheffer and family were called to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Thompson in La Crosse, by Mr. Thompson’s serious illness.  Mrs. Sheffer and boys remained in the Thompson home until Saturday.

 

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the date of the American Legion auxiliary party has been changed from December 14, to Monday, December 7, in the home of Mrs. Henry Laffe.  The dinner will be at noon, followed by a short business session.  Gifts will be exchanged.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Boettcher and children left Monday for Florida, where they will spend the winter.

 

Mrs. Gordon Gearing and children visited Sunday at the home of her brother, Lester Johnston of Eau Claire.  On her way home she stopped at the Henry Johnston home at Fall Creek and found her brother had suffered an accident Saturday while using an electric saw.  It cut off the tips of two fingers on each hand.  Mr. Johnston will not be able to use his hands for a month.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Dignin and children were guests of his sister, Mrs. Gil Blum of Price, Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe and Mrs. Clouse were dinner guests Thanksgiving Day of Mrs. Hazel Field in Hatfield.

 

Mrs. Leon Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips and family and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Fradenburg and family of Goshen, Ind., and George Fradenburg and Abram of Willard were dinner guests Thanksgiving of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Stuve and Peter Fradenburg. To make the family circle complete, Archie Fradenburg dropped in for a snack on his way home from hunting.

 

Mrs. Arlie Rosalock and daughter, Mrs. Ruth Peterson of Eau Claire called Sunday at the Adolph Rosalock and Sam Newton homes.

 

Louis Greub spent the Thanksgiving weekend at home from his school work in Eau Claire.

 

Clayton Theilen of Jefferson spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gephart.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Tichy of Christie called Sunday afternoon at the home of her uncle, Sam Newton.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Staves and family of St. Paul were weekend guests at the Harold Losey and Donald Staves homes.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Lueth and little son drove to Westboro Wednesday evening to spend until Sunday evening with his parents, Mr. and Mrs Finder Lueth.

 

Mrs. Leon Phillips and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillips and children of Goshen, Ind., came Wednesday to spend until Sunday visiting at the Raymond Stuve, Mrs. Cora Stanley and W. F. Hein homes and at the George Fradenburg home at Willard.

 

Thanksgiving Day guests at the Herman Gerber home were Mr. and Mrs. Willard Stanley and Randy, Henry Stanley and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Ness and children of Altoona.

 

Erven and Melvin Kohrt of Fall River spent several days recently in the Fred Rupnow home and hunted.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tande of Alma Center with their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vesterman of Lancaster and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Jahn of Alma Center, were supper guests Tuesday at the Herman Gerber home.

 

Melvin Rupnow spent a short weekend at home from his school work in Minneapolis.

 

Mrs. Harry Marsden and two little girls spent Thanksgiving day with the Harold Sandwicks of Merrillan.

 

Karen Christen of Hixton spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gerber.

 

Miss Edna Lindner of Neillsville called at the Fred Rupnow home Sunday on her way to Minneapolis, where she works.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Zimmerman and Danny Wallace attended a gathering at the Louis Seelow home in La Crosse Sunday in honor of her nephew, LaVern Hogan, who is entering the armed forces.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Parks and children of Marshfield were guests Sunday at the home of Mrs. Edith Smith.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Johnson and family of Neillsville spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Fred Rupnow.
