Koch, Roy E. (1 SEP 1906 - 9 JAN 1957)

 

Roy Ernest Koch of 1520 W. Stover St., Freeport, Ill., died in his home Saturday night, Jan. 9th, 1957 after a brief illness.

 

He was born in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) Sept. 1, 1906, the son of Leonard and Katherine Koch.

 

His marriage to Grace Prasse took place Oct. 26, 1929.  He had lived in Pearl City, Ill., from 1919 to 1927,a nd then moved to Freeport, Ill.

 

He had been employed for several years by the Myers Ford Sales Co. of that city and more recently by the Hoefer Mtg. Co.

 

He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity and St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, and the Churchmen’s Brotherhood.

 

Survivors include his wife and a daughter, Carol, a graduate student at Washington State College, Pullman, Wash.  Two brothers, Frank of Milwaukee Wis. and Arthur of Bozeman, Mont; and four sisters, Mrs. Fred Krause and Mrs. Fred Reinhard, both of Ft. Atkinson, Wis., and Alma Althoff and Miss Pauline Koch, both of Evanston, also survive.

 

Services were held in the Walker Mortuary at 2 p.m. Tuesday.  The Rev. C. H. Uthlaut, pastor of St. John’s Church, officiated.  Interment took place in Oakland Cemetery.
