Castner, Nettie (? - September 1960)

 

Those from Loyal who attended the funeral for Mrs. George Castner, 92, in Marshfield last Thursday were: Mr. and Mrs. Orville Wichman and daughters, Mrs. Jerome Schmidt and Miss Judy Wichman, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Walters, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Firnstahl, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boe and Mrs. W. I. Mack. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

Before her marriage to George Castner, on January 28, 1904, the former Nettie Wicker operated a dressmaking and millinery shop in Loyal. She also taught in the Loyal Public Schools.

 

Her husband died in January 1929.  For several years she has lived in Marshfield.

 

She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Gerald (Jeannette) Jacobson and Miss Valda Castner, Marshfield; Mrs. Orville (Edith) Wichman, Loyal; two step-daughters, Mrs. Cora Mehler, Arlington, Va., and Mrs. Ray (Frona) Kauffman, Alexandria, Va.; a step-son, John Castner, Marshfield; and a brother, Thomas Wicker, Colby.

 

There are eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
