Baldeschwiler, Mr. & Mrs. Anton (Gold - 9 NOV 1957)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Anton Baldeschwiler celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Nov. 9, 1957 with a 9 o’clock Msss at St. Bernard’s Church by Rev. Herbert Hoffman.  They renewed their marriage vows and received a special blessing.

 

Mr. Baldeschwiler was born Oct. 5th, 1881 in Germany, the only son of Nikolas and Mary Baldeschwiler, came to Thorp in 1893.  Mrs. Baldeschwiler, the former Wilhelmina Pritzl of Billion, was born July 19, 1882.  They lived on a farm west and south of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) from 1907 until 1940, when they retired in Thorp.

 

The honored couple was escorted to the altar by two of their great-grandchildren, Carol Sorenson and Carl Slowiak Jr., their bridesmaid, Agnes Meyer, and best men, George Haas and Theodore Pritzl.  One bridesmaid, Rose Kocurek, was absent because of bad weather on Friday.

 

After Mass in the church dining room, a breakfast was served to the immediate family and a reception and dinner at 4 o’clock for 160 relatives and friends.

 

Mrs. Baldeschwiler wore a dress and hat of black, and a yellow rose corsage.  Mr. Baldeschwiler wore a brown suit with a yellow rose boutonniere.

 

They were blessed with six children, all of whom are living, Mrs. Martin (Monica) Oberle, Mrs. Harley (Elsie) Hoffman, Raymond and Alfred, all living at Thorp, Mrs. David (Rita) Stav, Appleton, Mrs. Roger (Betty) Harper of Milwaukee.  Mrs. Stav was unable to attend.  They have 26 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

 

Relatives and friends from out of town who attended were Mrs. Veronica Hoffman, Appleton, Caroline Miller, Mrs. Wm. Pritzl, Mrs. Leo Pritzl from Brillion, Mr. Alex Fisher, Maple Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Pritzl and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Anhalt of Cato, Mr. and Mrs. John Meyer, Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Baldeschwiler, Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Baldeschwiler, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baldeschwiler, Jim Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Korb, Cadott, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Zimmerman and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Goodman, Boyd, Mrs. Frank Velcheck, Stevens Point, Mrs. Marian Culbert, Mr. and Mrs. Warren, Rose, Eau Claire, Peter Henke, Mr. and Mrs. John Wozniak and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Symbol of Stanley, Mrs. John Freisinger and Gordon Baldeschwiler of La Crosse, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Weix of Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Sorenson and family of Stanley, and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Harper and family of Milwaukee.
