Walter, Frank  (17 MAY 1932-21 NOV 2010)

Walter John Walter, 78, Tampa, Fla., formerly of Granton, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, 2010, with his loving family at his side. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 27, at McDonald Funeral Home, Tampa, followed by a celebration of life reception at the funeral home.

He was born in Granton on May 17, 1932, and moved to Tampa, Fla., in 1971. He was a long-time member of East Thonotasassa Baptist Church. Family was a very important part of his life. He was a farmer until he moved to Tampa to work in construction. He soon became a self-taught carpenter and worked on many of Tampa’s landmarks, including the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa International and many others. His proudest achievements were all the kids he raised, no matter whose kids they were.

He is survived by his devoted family who respected and honored him: his wife, Helen Couch; a sister, Anne Fojt; five sons, Randolph Walter, Scott (Helene) Walter, Jesse (Lori) Walter, David (Lisa) Couch, and James Brown; a daughter Debra (Larry) Woods; 10 grandchildren, Clay Couch, Jeremy Woods, Jacquline Walter, Mackenzie Walter, Joel Walter, Zachary Cooper, Cassandra Walter, Kristin Cooper, Krysta Walter, and Madisen Walter; and nieces Janet Wagner and Diane Fojt. He is also survived by many longtime friends from the Pampered Campers RV Club, and very true friend Richard Jones, who made life better.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Thonotosassa Baptist Church, 13735 Knights Griffen Rd., Thonotosassa, FL 33592-3842.

Online condolences may be sent to www.macdonaldfuneral.com.

MacDonald Funeral Home, Tampa, assisted the family with arrangements.
