Halpin, Mildred  (26 NOV 1949)

 

Miss Mildred Ann Halpin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Halpin of Loyal, became the bride of Gerald H. Humphrey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Humphrey of Coloma, in a nuptial mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Wautoma, on Saturday, Nov. 26. The Rev. Fr. George Weix officiated at the double ring ceremony.

 

The bride was attired in a Kelly green corduroy suit and carried a bouquet of pink carnations.

 

The bridesmaid, Miss Helen Castner, a friend of the bride, wore a green corduroy suit and carried a bouquet of red carnations. Jerome Halpin, brother of the bride. served as best man.

 

The choir sang "Ave Maria" and "On This Day, Oh Beautiful Mother."

 

Breakfast and a dinner-supper were served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Halpin in Coloma. Covers were laid for 20 relatives.

 

Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Halpin, Jerome Halpin and Helen Castner of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Cummings and children, Douglas, Michael, Terry, Lee and Frances, of Bancroft, and Mrs. George Turner of Plainfield.

 

The bride attended St. Anthony’s Catholic school and the Loyal high school here, and the groom is a graduate of the Hancock high school, with the class of 1947. He is employed

as a clerk at the Coloma Mercantile  store. They will make heir home in Coloma.

 

To the newlyweds, The Loyal Tribune extends its wishes for a long and happy married life.
