Kissling, Donna Lee (Marriage - 26 December 1960)

Arrangements of red poinsettias decorated the altar of the Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton for the wedding of Miss Donna Lee Kissling, and Ell E. Lee, Jr., of Milwaukee, who exchanged nuptial vows Monday in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Evan Dieck.

The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kissling, Rt. 1 Neillsville, and the groom is the son of the late Dr. Ell L. Lee, Sr., and Mary Lee, of Neillsville.

The bride approached the altar on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. She was attired in a dull luster satin and hand-clipped Chantilly lace gown.  The full blown, floor length skirt was fashioned with lace panels extending into a chapel train. Complementing the skirt was a butterfly bustle. The fitted Basque bodice was styled with a portrait neckline, outlined with iridescent sequins and pearls.  The long, fitted sleeves came to a point on the hand and buttoned at the wrists.

Her elbow-length illusion veil with hand-rolled edges was attached to an open Swedish crown, trimmed with Aurora Borealis.  She carried a colonial bouquet of small red roses surrounding a white orchid.

Mrs. Lee (Janis) Steinhilber was her friend’s matron-of-honor, and Miss Eva Mohr of Eau Claire, a former roommate of the bride, was her bridesmaid.

Lee Steinhilber was bestman for his close friend.  Robert Henning, Altoona, a cousin of the groom, was groomsman.  Ushers were Ernest Kissling and Thomas Wavrunek.

"Oh Promise Me" and "The Wedding Prayer" were sung by Wilfred Galstad, accompanied at the organ by Ray Henning of Altoona.

Red poinsettias and wedding bells decorated the American Legion Hall where 250 guests attended the reception.

The bride is a graduate of the Neillsville High School, also is a graduate of the Luther School of Nursing in Eau Claire.  She is presently employed as a registered nurse, in Luther Hospital.  The groom is also a graduate of Neillsville High School and (lines missing).
