Frane, Ruth Ann #2 (8 APR 1961)

Miss Ruth Ann Frane became the bride of Clement Apfelbeck Saturday morning at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at 9 o’clock.  The Rev. Raymond Schulz witnessed the exchange of vows in a double ring ceremony and sang the nuptial high mass.  At the close of the mass the bride place a bouquet of blue carnations before the statue of the blessed Virgin.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mrs. Theodore Frane of Abbotsford and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Apfelbeck of rural Colby.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her oldest brother, Howard, wore a gown of embroidered net over taffeta with aurora borealis trim.  It was fashioned with a fitted bodice and long full skirt.  Her fingertip veil was held by a crown.  She carried a cascade arrangement of white chrysanthemums and red roses.

Her attendants were dressed alike in frocks of silk organza designed with a scoop neckline with a bow in front of the shirred bodice.  Their full, gathered skirts, with a deep hem were street length.  They wore small crowns of aurora borealis and small veils.  They carried nosegay bouquets of pink and white carnations.

Miss Jean Berg of Colby was maid of honor and appeared in a frosty pink frock.  Blue ribbons were tied in her bouquet.

Miss Carol Thompson of Milwaukee, the Misses Carol Jean and Patricia Frane of Abbotsford sister of the bride, were bridesmaids.  Dusty blue was the color of their dresses and pink ribbons were used in their bouquets.

Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Arvin of Colby. Glen and Roy Frane, brothers of the bride, and Dennis Pecher, a cousin of the groom, all of Abbotsford, were the groomsmen.  Ushers were Charles Frane and James Apfelbeck, brothers of the bridal couple.

Both mothers of the bride and groom wore navy blue ensembles and had corsages of pink and white carnations.  Mrs. Frane chose white accessories and Mrs. Apfelbeck had pink and white accessories.

Mrs. Frieda Kniess of Wausau, maternal grandmother of the bride, had a corsage of yellow and white carnations.

About 125 guests were served a 12 o’clock wedding dinner at the home of the bride’s mother, and about 200 were guests at supper.  In the evening a wedding dance was held at Memorial Hall, Dorchester.

After the new Mr. and Mrs. Apfelbeck return from a southern wedding trip, they will be at home on the farm of the groom’s parents.
