Rayner, Mr./Mrs. Charles (Gold - 3 MAY 1961)

The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rayner was celebrated Sunday at a small family gathering at the home.

Among those present for the occasion were their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Charles Rayner, and only grandson, Charles, of Oshkosh, and two sisters, the Misses Eva and Veronica Franck of Eau Claire.

Charles Rayner and the former Angeline Franck were married at the Ecclesiastical Crucia Church in Princeton, Minn., by Father Vander Hulst on May 3, 1911.  They lived in Onamia, Minn. for a few years and at various places over the Soo Line system in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.  They came to Abbotsford in 1937 where Mr. Rayner was Soo Line agent since 1957, when he retired.

Mr. Rayner served the village of Abbotsford as president for two years.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Rayner are members of St. Bernard’s Catholic congregation.

Mr. Rayner, a native of Ohio, has two sisters in Marion, Ohio, and one in Larue, Ohio; one brother at Barnum, Minn., and one at Bowling Green.

Mrs. Rayner, who was born at Eau Claire, has six sisters and two brothers.  The brothers and three sisters live at Eau Claire; there is one sister at St. Paul, one at Minneapolis, and one in California.

Their only son, Charles, is deceased.
