Froeba, Thomas  (30 JULY 1929-17 JAN 2011)

 

Thomas R. Froeba, 81, Colby, passed away on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. A mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. Rev. Daniel Hackel officiated. Interment took place in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Loyal.

 

Thomas Froeba was born on July 30, 1929, in Loyal, to Clarence and Loretta (nee Bauer) Froeba. He attended Loyal schools and went on to proudly serve his country in the Army during the Korean War. On Oct. 7, 1953, he married Donna Gregory, at St. Anthony’s Church, Loyal. He was a semi-truck driver for Packaging Corporation of America. He was a member of the VFW Post 2227 in Colby, the National Rifle Association, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed farming, deer hunting, and shaking dice, particularly 6-5-4 with his friends. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

 

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Donna, Colby; two children, Daniel (Robin) Froeba, Colby, and Bonnie (Rev. William) Finn, Dale; six grandchildren, Kari (Tim) Smazal, Amy Froeba, Sara Graffinder, and Rebecca, Billy, and Tommy Finn; seven great-grandchildren, Brooke, Dylan, Ashlyn, Gabryelle, Lukas, Lillyn, and John; one brother, Ronald (Kathy) Froeba, Loyal; and five sisters, Viola (Alfred) Uhlig, Abbotsford, Kitty (Stub) Grambort, Abbotsford, Nancy (Jim) Steinbach, Loyal, Sandra (Jerry) Noeldner, Loyal, and Marciel (Lynn) Russell, Greenwood.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Loretta Froeba; two brothers, Herb Froeba and Raymond Froeba; and one sister, Evelyn Froeba.
