Skilbred, Lars (31 AUG 1879 - 20 AUG 1961)

 

Lars Skilbred died at his home in Evanston, Ill., Aug. 20, 1961, at the age of 82 years.  Interment was made Thursday at Dallas.  Officiating at the graveside were James Greenfield and Albert Gravel.

 

Mr. Skilbred was born Aug. 31, 1879, near Skien, Norway, and came to this country at the age of 21.  He lived on a farm east of Dorchester for 40 years.

 

In January of 1933, he and Mrs. Edith Dissmore were united in marriage.  The family moved to a farm at Camp Douglas in 1948 and five years ago moved to Evantston, Ill.

 

Surviving him are his widow and 12 children, Glenn Dissmore, Rice Lake; Mrs. Russell (Irene Dissmore) Brechlin, Evanston, Ill., formerly of Abbotsford; Kenneth Dissmore, Rochester, Minn.; Lawrence Dissmore, Eau Claire; Eleanore, Grace, George, Hilda and Rose Skilbred, Evanston, Ill.; Lillian Skilbred, Everett, Mich.; Margaret Skilbred, Peoria, Ill.; and Mrs. Roland (Edna Skilbred) Larson, Northfield, Ill.
