Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gumz are now at home in Chicago where Mr. Gumz is a machine designer.

The wedding of Miss Sue Ann Ploeckelman, daughter of Ben Ploeckelman of Colby, and Lester Gumz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gumz of Abbotsford, took place Saturday, Aug. 26, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby.

The Rev. William Christian read the service at 1:30 o’clock and Herbert Juncan sang "O Promise Me" and "The Lord’s Prayer."

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor length gown of Chantilly lace designed with an iridescent trimmed scoop neckline, tapered sleeves with ruffled edging and a bustle back.  A crown headpiece held her fingertip veil and she carried a white Bible topped with an orchid and white streamers.

Attending the bride were Miss Bonnie Ploeckelman, maid of honor, Miss Donna Ploeckelman as bridesmaid and the Misses Sally Bender and Debbie Fink as flower girls.

Robert Gumz was best man and Herbert Gumz was groomsman.  James Apfelbeck and Du Wayne Miller were ushers.

A reception was held at the Colby City Hall and dinner was served at the church.
