Jensen, Lawrence A. (23 MAR 1906 - 28 SEP 1961)

 

Funeral services for Lawrence A. Jensen, 55, who died Sept. 28, 1961, were held Saturday afternoon at the Christian Assembly of God Church, Abbotsford, at 2 o’clock.  The Rev. G. J. Unruh of Ohio conducted the service, during which hymns were sung by Mrs. Ruben Mantik and Mrs. Alvin Venzke.

 

Four nephews served as pallbearers for the interment made in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.  They were Emery Jensen, Eugene and Kenneth Gauerke and Robert Pockrandt.

 

Mr. Jensen was born in the town of Mayville (Clark Co., Wis.) Mar. 23, 1906.  He received his education in the town of Cleveland and Dorchester High Schools.  Mr. Jensen made his home with his mother, Mrs. Mollie Jensen, and operated the home farm.

 

He had been a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, for a week and was dismissed.  His death occurred at his home early Thursday morning.

 

Surviving him are his mother, a sister, Mrs. Melvin (Eleanora) Gauerke of Abbotsford, and two brothers, Elmer of Abbotsford and Dr. Elroy Jensen of Gilbert, Ia.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Nels Jensen, and a brother.

 

Relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral came from Gilbert, Ia., Springfield, Mo., Rockford and Chicago, Ill., Janesville, Park Falls, Phillips, Owen and the surrounding area.
