Apfelbeck, Dorothy (28 OCT 1961)

Miss Dorothy Apfelbeck became the bride of David Kramas Saturday morning, Oct. 28, 1961, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Colby.  The exchange of vows took place at 10 o’clock in a double ring ceremony witnessed by the Rev. John Pinion before the nuptial mass.

Parents of the bridal couple are Carl Apfelbeck of Colby and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kramas of Curtiss.

For her wedding, the bride chose a floor length gown of net over satin with long sleeves.  Sequins were used to trim the bateau neckline and down the front of the skirt.  A crown of sequins and pearls held her fingertip veil.  She carried an open heart bouquet of red roses, white chrysanthemums and feathered white carnations.

Attending the couple were Mrs. Rosemary Weber and Ray Apfelbeck, both of Colby, a sister and brother of the bride, Miss Doris Kramas of Curtiss, a sister of the groom, and Dennis Viets of Colby, a friend, completed the bridal party.  Duane Lett of Abbotsford, a brother-in-law of the bride, and Andrew Apfelbeck of Stetsonville, a brother, performed the ushering duties.

The matron of honor was attired in a street length dress of gold satin and the bridesmaid wore turquoise.  They were made with a scoop neckline, cap sleeves and full skirt accented with a waistband with a flower in the front.  They wore small white velvet headbands and carried bouquets of white mums with dyed carnations matching their frocks.

Festivities of the wedding day included a dinner and supper served at St. Mary’s School gymnasium to about 200 guests.  The reception in the afternoon and the wedding dance were held at Cherokee Hall.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Kramas are at home in Thorp where the groom is employed at the Pleasant Vista Dairy Farm.  He is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School and his bride attended Colby High School.
