Olson, Marie (30 DEC 1961)

Marriage vows were exchanged between Miss Marie Olson and Ronald Brock Saturday, Dec. 30, 1961, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Dorchester.  During the 1:30 o’clock ceremony read by the Rev. F. H. Sprengler, "The Lord’s Prayer" and "The Wedding Prayer" were played and sung by Herbert Juneau.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Olson of Abbotsford.  Mr. Olson gave his daughter in marriage to the son of Mrs. William Jantz of Ripon.

Attendants at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mueller, brother-in-law and sister of the groom, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stollfuss, brother-in-law and sister of the bride, all of Ripon.

For her wedding, the bride chose a gown of rosepoint lace and tulle designed with long sleeves and a square scalloped neckline.  The floor length skirt was made of tiers of lace edged with tulle flounces.  A fingertip veil of illusion and a bridal bouquet of red roses, white mums and stephanotis completed the bridal ensemble.

Aqua was chosen for the matron of honor and gold for the bridesmaids.  They wore ballerina length frocks of nylon sheer and taffeta.  The flared skirts featured cascade embroidery trim, short sleeved bodices with embroidery trim, taffeta cummerbunds and back panels of matching color.  Small circlets of rosebuds and leaves secured the bride veils in colors to match the dresses and their bouquets were of matching white mums.

Festivities of the wedding day included a reception following the ceremony at the American Legion Hall, supper at the church basement and a wedding dance at Memorial Hall.

The future home of the new Mr. and Mrs. Brock is at Ripon, route 1.  Both young people are employees of Ripon Foods, Inc.  The groom is currently at Ft. Lewis Wash. with the 32nd Division.

Guests at the wedding came from Ripon, Berlin, Princeton, Markesan, Neenah, Wausau, Stratford, Edgar, Mosinee, Fenwood, Dorchester, Owen, Withee, Curtiss, Colby and Abbotsford.
