Pollnow, Fred (18 February 1883 - 25 January 1961)

 

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Fred Pollnow, 77, Rt. 3, Neillsville, a lifelong resident of Clark County, who died Wednesday.  He had been a hospital patient for a week.

 

The Rev. Evan Dieck, pastor of the Zion American Lutheran Church in Pine Valley, officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mr. Pollnow, son of the late Carl and Christina (Loerch) Pollnow, was born February 18, 1883.  He worked in the woods as a young man and later did carpenter work.  He never married.

 

He is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Arnold (Ruth) Yankee, Neillsville; and Mrs. Susie Sollie, Eau Claire; and by a brother, Edward Pollnow, Neillsville.

 

Pallbearers were: Arthur and Otto Dux, Thone Karnitz, Archie Fradenburg, Charles and Earl Marden.

 

"Asleep in Jesus" and "Just as I am" were sung by Wilfred B. Galstad, accompanied by Miss Kathleen Galstad.

 

Those from away here for the services were: Mrs. Susie Solie, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Lefstad, D. Solie, Miss Irene Johnson, Miss Genevieve Johnson and Miss Sara Moses, all of Eau Claire; Mrs. Sture Engstrom, Geneva, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Svetlik, New Holstein; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Fradenburg and Miss Emma Karnitz, Humbird; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Switzenberg, Barron; Michael Warlum, Madison; Elmo Milton, Chicago, Ill.; William Rectenwald, Palatine, Ill.
