Yankee, Hubert Henry (10 November 1878 - 6 February 1961)

 

Funeral services for Hubert Henry Yankee, 82, who died late Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verne G. Howard in Grant will be held this (Thursday) afternoon in Park Falls.

 

Mr. Yankee has been in ailing health for many months.  Six months ago he left Park Falls to live with Mr. and Mrs. Howard.

 

Hubert Yankee was born November 10, 1878, in Lynn, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Yankee, a pioneer Clark County family.  When he was 11 he moved with his family to Butternut.  He was married October 24, 1901, to Bertha Marth, who died in 1951.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lavella Dane of Park Falls and Mrs. Verne (Bernadine) Howard; three brothers, Emil of Rhinelander, Arnold of Marengo, and Edward of Oconto, and seven grandchildren.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Howard and children, William, Mary and Judith expected to attend the funeral, Masonic Lodge, No. 300, was to be in charge of the services.  Burial was to be made in the Park Falls Cemetery.
