Tews, Albert  (17 AUG 1882-10 FEB 1953)

 

Albert F. Tews, a pioneer resident of this area died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10th, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. He had been a patient there a week and death was attributed of a kidney ailment.

 

Mr. Tews was born Aug. 17, 1882 in the town of Marshfield where he received his education in Immanuel Lutheran School. His marriage to Elsie Wichman took place Oct. 25, 1904, in Immanuel Lutheran church, Marshfield, with the Rev. L. T. Thom performing the ceremony. They came to Veefkind in 1912 to the farm, which was his home until the time of his death.

 

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Philmore (Irene) Pischer, Marshfield; one son, Melvin at home, two grandchildren, a brother, August Tews of Marshfield, and five sisters, Mrs. Herman Arndt and Mrs. Joe Zweck of Marshfield, Mrs. Minnie Mathews and Mrs. Aug. Reese, Wisconsin Rapids and Mrs. Rudolph Penner, Detroit, Mich. A sister and brother preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13th, in Salem Lutheran Church, Veefkind. Rev. E. Aalto of Loyal officiated and burial was made in  Hillside Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers included Albert Vanderhoof, Julius Schroeder, Edwin Gunz, John Kurz, Art Schaefer and Siegert Krasselt.

 

Those who carried flowers were Mrs. Julius Schroeder, Mrs. John Kurz, Mrs. Art Schaefer, Mrs. Siegert Krasselt, Mrs. Wm. Reinheimer, Mrs. Joe Stochek and Mrs. Fred Jacobi.

 

Relatives and friends attending from away were: Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Penner, Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Minnie Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Max Stelmacher, Ernest Reese, Mr and Mrs. Carl Wickman of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hagedorn, and son of Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Philmore Pisher, Jeanne Tews, Mr. and mrs. Herman Arndt, August Tews, Mrs. Joe Zweik, William Wichman, Mr. and Mrs. Signet Wichman, Mr. and mrs. Marvin Wichman, Mrs. Forest Montgomery, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Arndt, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Arndt, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Waltmann, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Arndt, Mrs. Cora Reinheimer of Marshfield’ Mr. and Mrs. Paul Budtke, Mr. and Mrs. Bredel, Miss Emma Budtke of Auburndale; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Schmidt of Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schwantes of Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stochek, Mrs. J.
