Zschernitz, Ronne Alan (? - 10 April 1961)

 

Funeral services will be held at nine o’clock this (Thursday) morning for Ronne Alan Zschernitz, 18-year-old Neillsville high school senior, who was injured fatally in an automobile accident about 9:15 p.m. Monday.

 

The services will be held from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Eisenmann in charge.  Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.

 

Two others of the nine youths riding in the 1953 model car which crashed into an embankment at the head of a "T" intersection in the Town of Levis remained in critical condition Wednesday morning.

 

Still critical are: Charles Aumann, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Aumann of Rt. 3 Neillsville; Loren Poehnlein, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Poehnlein; Douglas Harr, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Harr of Neillsville and Tom Harr, 16, star Neillsville High School basketball player; Milton Prock, 17, and his brother Michael Prock, 19, both sons of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Prock of Neillsville (and others; but the article was cut off on my copy, and I the transcriber chose not to give all the details of injuries of each one, being some names were not with copy) .

Zschernitz, Ronne A. (10 DEC 1942 – 10 APR 1961)

Neillsville (Special) – A requiem high mass will be read today at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville, for Ronne Alan Zschernitz, 18, Rt. 2, Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), who died Monday night at Memorial Hospital of injuries received earlier in the evening in an automobile accident south of here. The Rev. Joseph Eisenmann will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Ronne was a passenger in a car driven by John Hubing, 17, Neillsville. There were nine area youths in the vehicle when it failed to negotiate a turn on a Towno fLevsi road and struck a ditch bank.

Ronne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Zschernitz, was born December 10, 1942, in Marshfield. He had been a Neillsville resident all his life. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and was a senior at Neillsville High School.

Ronne was employed part time at the Clark County Press for the past year, and also worked at the Svetlik Motor Company. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Young People's Sodality of the church. He was also a member of the Future Farmers of America.

Ronne is survived by his parents, and the following brothers and sisters: Larry, Thomas, Gary, Jayne, Alan, Terry, Joel and Melodie Ann, all at home.; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Irish, Neillsville, and his paternal grandfather, Carl Zschernitz, Eau Claire.
