Reshel, Patricia Jean (Marriage - 13 May 1961)

A double ring ceremony uniting in marriage Miss Patricia Jean Reshel, and Charles Elvin Swenson, both of Neillsville, was performed Saturday by the Rev. Norman Lindloff in the parish hall of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

A 5 o’clock supper was served in the American Legion Hall attended by 60 guests.  A dance was held there in the evening.

For her wedding the bride wore a floor-length white bridal gown of Chantilly lace and net over satin, styled with a chapel train.  The bodice featured a scoop neckline trimmed with pearls and sequins.  Her elbow length veil of English silk illusion was secured to a princess crown of pearls and crystal beads. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white carnations with red rose buds entwined in the white ribbon.

Miss Barbara Sitzman, a step-sister of the bride, was her maid-of-honor.  She was attired in a blue Bermuda street-length dress of nylon chiffon over taffeta. She wore a matching petal hat with blusher veil, and carried a bouquet of blue and white carnations.

Jon Swenson attended his brother as best man.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sitzman, and Mr. and Mrs. John Swenson.

On their return from a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin Mr. and Mrs. Swenson will reside in Marshfield.

The bride attended the Marshfield schools and has been employed in Neillsville. The groom is a graduate of Neillsville High School.

Out of town guests here for the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Schoenherr and sons, Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. William Puttkamer, Lake Mills; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Giesler, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Senz, Eugene Brew, Joseph Krostag, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schreiner, all of Marshfield; Charles Giesler, Wisconsin Rapids; James Swenson, Waukesha; and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Downer, Granton.
