Baehr, Mr./Mrs. Harry (45th - May 1961)

 

Wednesday evening, May 17, Mr. and Mrs. John Zasoba of Withee entertained friends and relatives at their home in honor of the 45th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baehr.

 

Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Baehr, George and Earl Baehr, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rabska, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rabska, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Peterson (a line was blanked out) Mrs. George Peterson, all of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Tovia Nevala of Thorp; and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Miller of Loyal.

 

Cards were played and several selections were sung by Mrs. Herman Rabska and Mrs. Tovia Nevala.  Many gifts were received.

 

Lunch was served by Mrs. Edward Miller and Mrs. John Zasoba.

Baehr, Mr./Mrs. Harry (48th - 17 MAY 1964)

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baehr of route 1, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Alger of St. Paul, Minn. on Sunday, May 17, 1964.

Those present were their six children, Mr. and Mrs. John Engebretson of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Baehr of Mosinee, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Baehr and family of Altoona; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Miller and family of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Baehr and family of St. Paul, Minn. The honored couple received a money tree as a gift from the children. It was also the 9th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John Engebretson.

Baehr, Mr./Mrs. Harry (Gold – 17 MAY 1966)

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baehr, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, May 15. The day began by attending services at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee.

At noon a dinner was served by the Lutheran Ladies Aid of the church to 121 guests. Afterwards a nice program was held in the church to honor this wonderful couple. Their 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren sang, "Put on Your Old Gray Bonnet."

Other songs were sung by the following:

Sharon Heideman – "Beyond the Sunset."

Jack Alger – "Silver Threads Among the Gold."

Janice Miller played an accordion solo, "Let Me Call Your Sweetheart."

Janet Baehr played an organ solo.

Mrs. Norman Baehr gave a reading.

Mrs. Herman Rabaka also gave a reading.

The Rev. Leroy Urman gave a talk suitable to the occasion.

Open house was held at the Baehr farm at 2 p.m. About 200 guests were served a delightful luncheon.

Harry Baehr, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Baehr, and Clara Beckman, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Beckman, were married May 17, 1916 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Thorp, by Rev. Schwagerbager.

Mr. and Mrs. Baehr are still living on the farm where he was born 75 years ago. They have six children, Kenneth of Altoona;, twins – Norman of Mosinee and Norbert of St. Paul; Mrs. (Romilda) Englebretson, Mrs. (Ina) Miller and Mrs. (Elaine) Alger.

Visitors at open house were from Altoona, Abbotsford, Loyal, Eau Claire, Franklin, Greenwood, Colfax, Hayward, La Farge, Boyd, Kiel, Medford, Milan, Mosinee, Thorp, Stanley, Withee, Rhinelander, Owen, all of Wisconsin.

Out of state guests from Chicago, Roselle, Ill., St. Paul and Minneapolis.

Baehr, Mr./Mrs. Harry (60th - ? 1976)

]Mr. and Mrs. Henry Baehr of Route 1, Withee, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary recently with a family dinner served at the American Legion Hall in Loyal. Their pastor, the Rev. Douglas Groenewold, offered the table prayer. All six of their children were present. They are, Kenneth of Altoona; Norman of Mosinee; Norbert and Mrs. Jack (Elaine) Alger of St. Paul, Mn.; Mrs. John (Romilda) Engegretson of Chicago, Il.; and Mrs. Edward (Ina) Miller of Loyal. There are 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Other guests were Richard Rabska and Mrs. Earl Peterson of Withee. They enjoy playing cards and have lived for 60 years at the same place.
