At Zion Lutheran Church in Granton, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, LaVada Mae Dankemeyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Dankemeyer of Chili, and Gerald H. Luchterhand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Luchterhand, Spencer, were united in marriage. The Rev. A. A. Oswald officiated.

 

The bride’s gown was styled with a bodice of lace, buttoned down the back and long sleeves. The skirt was net over satin with lace inserts extending into the train. Her finger tip veil was caught to a Juliet cap, and her flowers were red roses and white stephanotis, centered with a white orchid.

 

The maid of honor was Wilma Jean Dankemeyer, sister of the bride. She wore a gown of yellow marquisette over taffeta and carried pink roses and yellow carnations.

 

The bridesmaids were Doreen Luchterhand, sister of the groom, Doris Woldenhaur, of Granton, and Mrs. Beverly Schultz of Eau Claire. All wore dresses of  aqua Marquisette over taffeta and carried yellow roses and white carnations.

 

Donna Luchterhand, Spencer, a niece of the groom was flower girl and her dress was white net over taffeta. She carried a miniature bridal bouquet.

 

The gowns of the maid of honor, bridesmaids, and flower girl were all identically styled and sweetheart hats matched the dresses.

 

Robert Herdrich, Loyal, cousin of the groom was the best man. Donavan Spry, Chili, cousin of the bride; Donald Bartch, Granton, relative of the bride; and Leonard Schultz, Eau Claire, were groomsmen.

 

Ronald Greeler, Neillsville and Harley Loos, Chili, ushered.

 

The ring bearer was Tommy Luchterhand, nephew of the groom. He wore a white jacket and black trousers.

 

Supper was served to 200 guests at the parish house.

 

The bride is a graduate of the Granton High School, class of 1952, and has been employed at the Weinbrenner shoe factory in Marshfield.

 

The groom attended the Loyal High School and is engaged in farming.

 

The honeymoon is being spent on the Pacific Coast.

 

Guests from Rockford, Ill., and St. John Mich., Milwaukee, Marshfield, Prairie du Chien, Yuba, Eau Claire, Loyal, Chili, Spencer, Granton, Neillsville, and Manawa attended the wedding.
