Shefchik, Angeline (15 SEP 1955)

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at Loyal was the setting for the 9 a.m. Nuptial High Mass, Thursday, Sept. 15, 1955, for the wedding of Miss Angeline Shefchik and Arthur L. Gregory.  Rev. Father N. King officiated at the ceremony, which was followed by a breakfast for the bridal party at the church, a reception at the home of the bride’s parents, and a dinner and supper in the church dining room.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Shefchik of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) wore a white floor length gown of French Princess lace and tulle over satin.  The bodice was styled with wrist length sleeves, a scoop effect neckline with a Mandarin collar, trimmed in iridescents and seed pearls, set into a yoke of illusion.  The skirt was of accordion pleated tulle with an overskirt in redingote effect of alternate panels of scallop edged lace and pleated tulle.  Her silk illusion veil, in fingertip length, fell from a double halo crown of sequins and seed pearls.  Her cascade bouquet was of pink roses, white feathered carnations, and stephanotis with streamers of ivy.

Miss Eleanor Shefchik, Milwaukee, in fern green, was her sister’s maid of honor.  Mrs. Thomas Froeba, Loyal, sister of the groom, in rose pink, and Miss Darlene Wolfe, Loyal, in powder blue, were bridesmaids.  The three gowns were strapless formals of nylon lace and net over taffeta, with matching boleros.  The full skirts had ruffled tiers of lace and net in the back, and they wore picture hats of matching net.  Their flowers were cascade bouquet of pink gladioli, white carnations, and yellow carnations, edged with ivy.

The bridegroom’s parents are Theodore Gregory of Woodstock, Ill., and Mrs. Etta Stabnow of Greenwood.  Richard Shefchik, Loyal, brother of the bride, was best man, and Thomas Froeba, Loyal, brother-in-law of the groom, and Robert Langfeldt, Loyal, were groomsmen.  Raymond Shefchik, brother of the bride, and Donald "Pud" Beaver, Loyal, brother-in-law of the groom, ushered.

Sisters of the bride, Jean and Joan Shefchik, twins, were flower girls.  Their gowns were yellow organdy with net covered skirts.  They wore matching picture hats and their flowers were miniatures of those carried by the bridal aids.  Thomas Beaver, a nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

Mrs. Shefchik wore dusty rose lace over taffeta.  Her corsage was red roses and white carnations and the groom’s mother wore changeable brown taffeta with a corsage of yellow roses and white carnations.

Both of the newlyweds are graduate of the Loyal High School.  The bride is a bookkeeper at Zupanc Motors, Loyal, and the groom is a wholesale distributer of Budweiser Beer.

When the new Mr. and Mrs. Gregory return from a honeymoon at St. Louis, Mo., and in other southern states, they will live on route 1, Granton.

Among the out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. William Renz, grandparents of the bride, Watertown; Mrs. Theresa Gregory, grandmother of the groom, Stetsonville; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Shefchik, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Shefchik, Milwaukee; and rleatives from Watertown, Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Green Bay, Kewaunee, Edgar, Loyal, Colby, Greenwood, Longwood, Black Creek, also from Minnesota, Illinois and Indiana.
