Trachte, Bernice Marie (Marriage - 5 August 1961)

Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday by Miss Bernice Marie Trachte, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Trachte, Rt. 1, Neillsville, and Romaine C. Boyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Boyer, Rt. 3, Neillsville, in the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton. The Rev. Lawrence E. Schreiber performed the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with vases of flowers.

Mr. Trachte gave his daughter in marriage.

For her wedding Miss Trachte was attired in a floor length gown of silk organza and lace over net and taffeta. The full bouffant skirt was fashioned with lace appliqué. The fitted Basque bodice, with lace appliqué, was styled with a Bateau neckline and long, fitted sleeves. Her tulle veil was attached to a crown of seed pearls. She carried a fan-shaped bridal bouquet of white flowers, centered with an orchid.

Miss Karen Trachte attended her sister as maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Colleen Howard, Unity, a niece of the groom, and Mrs. Lyle Abramson, Fairchild, sister of the bride. They wore dresses of maize silk organza over net and taffeta, with the full skirts styled with cummerbunds. They carried fan-shaped bouquets of carnations and roses.

A niece of the groom, Brenda Boyer, served as flower girl. His nephew, Ardin Bedell, carried the rings on a white satin pillow.

The groom’s attendants were Marvin Boyer, his brother, as bestman; groomsmen, Arnold Trachte, Madison, brother of the bride and Lyle Abrahamson, Fairchild; ushers, Richard Trachte, Marshfield, and Calvin Worchel, Neillsville.

A reception was held in the church parlors and in the evening a dance was held in the American Legion Hall in Neillsville.

The bride is a 1959 graduate of Neillsville High School and of Wood County Teachers College in 1961.  She will teach in the Worchel School this fall. The groom is a graduate of Greenwood High School.

On their return from a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Boyer will reside on Rt. 3, Neillsville.
