Feig, Herbert C. (Changing Bank Jobs –1961)

Mayor to Take New Bank Job

Herbert C. Feig, Neillsville mayor and a banker here for nearly six years, will become executive vice president of the Menomonee Falls Bank next May 1.

The new institution recently was granted a charter by the state banking commission, and is expected to open its doors shortly after that date.

Menomonee Falls is situated near Milwaukee in a rapidly growing area of the state. There is one other downtown bank in the community of 18,000.

Mr. Feig told The Clark County Press that he expects to complete his full two year term as mayor of Neillsville before taking up his new duties. The term expires next April.

Mr. Feig’s resignation as cashier has been tendered to directors of The Neillsville Bank.

During the few years he and his family have been in Neillsville, Mr. Feig has taken an active part in civic and church affairs.  He was a member of the city’s planning commission before undertaking the mayoralty campaign in 1960.  He also has been an active worker in the Methodist Church, the Parent Teachers Association and in other groups.

Mrs. Feig also has been active in civic and church affairs in the community. For several years, she was a den mother in the Brownie program, and has been a Sunday school teacher throughout her period in Neillsville. She also is a member of the Grey Ladies and has been active in Neillsville Country Club affairs.
