Jascor, Patricia (JUL 1958)

Dixon, 314 West 10th St., is the first address of newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen John Morrissey, who were wed recently in St. Mary’s Church, Walton.  Mrs. Morrissey is the former Patricia Ann Jascor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jascor of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).  Mr. and Mrs. James Morrissey, Amboy, are the bridegroom’s parents.

Baskets of mixed summer flowers were used in decorating for their Nuptial High Mass.  Rev. Robert Donavon, Prophetstown, and formerly of Walton, officiated and performed the double ring ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white Chantilly lace and nylon tulle floor length gown.  The dress was styled with a Sabina neckline, long sleeves and a chapel length train.

A crown of seed pearls held the bride’s nylon illusion fingertip veil.  She carried a bouqet of stephanotis and ivy leaves centered with a white orchid.

Miss Joanne Jascor, Aurora, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mrs. Charles Smith, Minneapolis, Minn., sister of the bride; Miss Joyce Bakke, Aurora; Mrs. Charles Blackburn, Aurora, and Miss Judy Grever, Prairieview, were bridesmaids.

The bride’s attendants wore ballerina gowns of frost white, pure silk chiffon fashioned with scoop necklines, cap sleeves, fitted tucked bodices, and accented by deep cummerbunds of petal pink and a darker shade of pink chiffon.  Their headdresses were Dior plateaus of matching petal pink chiffon graced with large pearls iridescent sequins.  The headpieces had circular blush veils.

Bouquets of garnet roses were carried by the attendants and they wore short white gloves, a gift from the bride.

Joseph Morrissey, Amboy, served his brother as best man, and groomsmen were: Charles Blackburn, Aurora; Charles Morrissey, Walnut, brother of the bridegroom; James Morrissey, Dixon, brother of the bridegroom, and Kenneth Sharkey, Mt. Morris.  Ushering was done by Charles Friel and Bill Mihm, Amboy.

As flower girl, Anne Morrissey, Dixon, niece of the bridegroom, wore a floor length frock of pink chiffon styled like those of the other attendants.  She wore a headband of pink flowers and carried a basket of pink rose petals.  Her gift from the bride was a strand of pearls.

The bride’s mother wore a brown and beige dress with beige accessories and a white and yellow rose corsage.  With her beige dress, trimmed in orange, the bridegroom’s mother wore beige accessories and a corsage of white roses.

A wedding dinner was served at the Rainbow Inn, Dixon, for the bridal party and immediate families.  That evening a reception was held in the Knights of Columbus Home, Dixon.
