Arndt, Alfred Frank Paul (June 14, 1923 - March 28, 2011)

 

Alfred Frank Paul Arndt, 87, of Owen, died on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee, with Rev. Thomas Myhre officiating. Inurnment will be at the Longwood Township Cemetery at a later date.


Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, April 1 from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.


Alfred Arndt was born on June 14, 1923 on the homestead near Lake Esadore to the late John and Alma (Bradow) Arndt.


On September 20, 1947 he married Bertha Mae Oates, who preceded him in death on February 4, 2002.

 

He moved from Medford for employment at the age of 18.

 

He was employed at Frank Gay Sr., Longwood Cheese Factory, Wagner's Trucking Diesel Mechanic and Sam Nelson's bulk milk business until his retirement.


Survivors include his children, Allen (Janice) Arndt of Withee, Diane Anderson of Withee, Donald Arndt of Withee, Robert Arndt of Spencer, Terry (Cathy) Arndt of Withee, Larry Arndt and Jan of Owen, David (Terri) Arndt of Wisconsin Rapids, Judy (Jack) Konwinski of Bruce and Linda Arndt and Bill of Withee; grandchildren, Deborah Peterson, John Arndt, Sonia Lewis, Michael Arndt, Patricia Benson, Travis Arndt, Carrie Becker, Aaron Konwinski, Amber Konwinski and Andy Killian; great-grandchildren; Alexander, Molly and Mitchell Peterson, Jayden and Danica Lewis, Ellie and Kenzie Benson, Erica, Kylie and Reina Arndt, Michelle Arndt, Jordan and Tiffany Radue and Connar Becker; and brothers, John Arndt of Rochelle, Ill., and Ervin Arndt of Belvedere, Ill.


In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Carl; a sister, Louise (Arndt) Bachand; and a great-grandson, Hunter (Arndt) Abegglen.

 

The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is serving the family.
