Lenz, Milton Henry (1916? - April 2, 2011)

 

Milton Henry Lenz, 94, of Colby, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011.


He was born to Lillian (Marti) and Theodore Lenz in Eagle Bend, Minn. in 1916. He moved to a Colby area farm in the Town of Hull with his parents when he was two years old. He attended Riverside Grade School and graduated from Colby high school in 1935.

 

He married Iris Pederson in 1944, and was a dairy farmer for forty-seven years. When retiring 1981, he later moved to Abbotsford.

 

Over his lifetime, Milton was active in 4-H, Abby Archers, United Presbyterian Church and Wisconsin Gladiolus Society. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed playing football and baseball in his youth, fishing and hunting with family and friends, gardening with his wife and tinkering in his shop.


He is survived by his children, Milton (Kathleen) Lenz of Menomonie, Lenore (Larry) Johnson of Fort Atkinson, Ann (Tony) Kedrowski of Bella Vista, Ark., Carol (Larry) Oehmichen of Colby, Joyce (David) Johnson of Menomonie; fourteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren; as well as a sister-in-law, Ruth Pederson of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.


Milton was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma; brother, Laverne; and loving wife Iris.


A memorial service will be held at Abbotsford Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 1 p.m., with visitation from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m at the church.
