Riber, Kristina (17 AUG 1876 - 31 AUG 1958)
Friends and relatives of the Peter Riber family were saddened when they learned of the sudden death of Mrs. Riber Sunday evening when she suffered a fatal heart attack at seven o’clock.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock Wednesday afternoon from the Nazareth Lutheran Church at Withee with the Rev. W. Clayton Nielsen officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Peter Madsen, Chris Christophersen, Earl Jensen, Einar Larsen, Jens Smith, Andrew Smith and Merle Bushnell.
Born August 17, 1876 in South Jutland, Denmark, she came to America when 25 years of age in 1901. Two years later she was united in marriage to Peter Riber in a ceremony performed at Gardner, Ill. The couple made their home there for 13 years, and then moved to a farm south of the Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) City Limits on County Trunk D 42 years ago in 1916.
Kristina Riber, 82, had been especially active during her many years of residence in this community in social, civic and church circles until her health began to fail several years ago. Her passing is mourned by her husband, Peter; two sons, Carl of Owen and Elmer of Everett, Wash.; and one daughter, Mrs. Nick (Margaret) Rand of Milwaukee; and six grandchildren. One child preceded her in death.
