RAILWAY NOTES

The annual report of the Chicago and Northwestern railway shows gross earnings of $26,321,000--an increase of $2,402,000 over last year.

A Surveying party is now in the field between Abbotsford and Merrill, Wis., completing the survery between those points.  The right of way is about all secured and a good portion of it will be finished when snow flies.  The line will run from Abbotsford to Merrill, with a line to Wausau diverging at Rib Lake.  It will be operated as a part of the Wisconsin Central System, and will make a short line from Chippewa Falls to Merrill and Wausau.
