Zivney, Frances A. (7 NOV 1895 - 28 DEC 1958)

Frances Augusta Zivney was born Nov. 7, 1895, in Phillips, Wis.  her parents were Michael Heitzinger and Katherine Meindle Heitzinger, both having come to this country from Bavaria, Germany.  Her girlhood days were spent on a farm at Junction City, Wis.

On April 15, 1914, she married Charles Zivney, telegraph operator, in Stevens Point, Wis.  The first home of their marriage was in Phillips, where they lived two years, and then moved to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), where they have resided ever since.  Last April brought the total years of their married life to 44 years.  During all these years Mrs. Zivney did her housework with loving care and her husband always liked everything she did.  She cherished the one child of their marriage, Kathryn Lorraine Zivney, born June 14, 1924, and spent a great deal of time giving this child the best of loving care and beautiful companionship.  The daughter is now married to Raymond Hiebsch and moved to Glendale, Calif., after their wedding, Sept. 3, 1950.

Mrs. Zivney was always a great lover of pets and flowers, and also enjoyed helping her husband with his studio work.  For 12 years she was Treasurer of the Congregation Church Ladies Aid, serving this post with infinite care, and before that she served as a teacher in the primary grades at Sunday school.

Death resulted at 2:17 a.m., Dec. 28^th, 1958 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, because of a blocked artery in  the left side of her brain, producing a coma-like state 9:00 Friday morning, Dec. 26, 1958, from which she passed away peacefully at 2:17 Sunday morning.  Mrs. Zivney’s high blood pressure and extreme arteriosclerosis induce hospitalization in an effort to relieve the paralysis which struck the two fingers of her right hand first, and then brought numbness over her entire hand and even resulted in speech difficulties at times, of which the shortest duration was one minute, the next three of four minutes and the last of a series that lasted in an on and off fashion about 15 minutes.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, Charles Zivney, their only daughter, Kathryn Hiebsch, and one grandchild, Lisa Frances Hiebsch.  Also left to mourn are her sisters and brothers, Michael Heitzinger of Seaside, Calif., Anna Stephens of Herman, Minn., Joe Heitzinger of Stevens Point, Emma of Mosinee, and Martin Heitzinger of Stevens point.  Her parents and one brother, Louie, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the Congregational Church in Owen,w ith itnerment at Glendale, Calif.

Rev. Ralph Claybaugh, pastor of the First Congregational Church officiated, being assisted by Rev. W. Myron Glick, a former pastor of the parish and now of Nekoosa, Wis.  Vocal selections, "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer My God to Thee," were sung by Clark Nissen, with Maxine Christofferson serving as accompanist.

Pallbearers were John Bacon, Roy Gabriel, Arne Holopainen, Elmer Rossman, Edward Rusch and Art Schwenke.  In charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Minnie Doege, Mrs. Harold Muenich, Mrs. Robert Nissen, Mrs. Dorothy Roberts, Mrs. Vilas Verhulst, Mrs. John Watson and Miss Clara Peterson.
