Sugden, Alice (14 DEC 1868 - 14 MAR 1959)

 

Alice Crye Sugden, daughter of Sarah Jones Crye and John Crye, was born Dec. 14th, 1868 at Tipton Co., Indiana.

 

She passed away March 14, 1959 at the age of 90 years and 3 months.  Serving as pallbearers were Adolph Haavisto, Ed Ruesch, Earl and Bernard McCray and Julius Johnson.  Marion, Hazel and Carol Brown were the flower girls.  The Rev. J.R. Stone officiated at the funeral services and burial was made at Dexterville, Wis.  Rev. and Mrs. Stone rendered hymns, with Mrs. Duane Marschek serving as organist.

 

She was united in marriage to Mr. David Sugden, the ceremony taking place Dec. 11, 1868 at Spaulding, Wis.  To this marriage five sons and two daughters were born.  They made their home at Dexterville until 1909, at which time they moved to Owen.  Mr. Sugden passed away on the 11th of March in 1912.

 

Mrs. Sugden was preceded in death by her husband, one son and one daughter.  She is survived by four sons, Coleman and Howard of Owen; Archie of Neenah and George of Hopkinton, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Warren (Violet) Brown of Gladstone, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Susan Robinson and Mrs. Ellen Shellhammer of Medford; one brother, Frank Crye of Owen; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
