Zygowicz, Marion E. (17 DEC 1911 - 23 APR 2011)


COLBY -- Marion E. Zygowicz, 99, of Colby passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Colonial Center in Colby.


A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. The Rev. Daniel Hackel will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Colby.


Marion was born Dec. 17, 1911, to Johanna (Wilkowski) and Charles Stroik in the town of Pike Lake. She was joined in marriage to her husband, Joseph Zygowicz, on Sept. 3, 1934. They lived and raised their family in Chicago until 1949, when they decided to pursue farming. They bought and operated a farm southeast of Unity.


She is lovingly survived by her children, Jerome (Bonnie) Zygowicz of Colby, Patricia (Roger) Lamprey of Roswell, Ga., and Robert (Mary) Zygowicz of Colby; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and her two brothers, Raymond Stroik of town of Bevent and Edmund Stroik of Stevens Point.


Marion was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; brother, Joseph Stroik; and sisters, Ann Coffman and Irene Miller.


The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
