Blazer, Rose #2 (24 OCT 1874 - 11 AUG 1959)

 

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 14th, at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home for Mrs. Rose Blazer, 85, Owen, who passed away Tuesday of old age complications at the Havenet Nursing Home.  The Rev. James Stone, pastor of the Alliance Church officiated with burial at the Riverside Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Arlie Thompson, Herbert Thompson, James Larson, Wesley Siggelkow, David mcVey and Arthur Karow.

 

The former Rose Bone, daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Bone, was born Oct. 24, 1874, in Ohio.  When a young girl she moved with her parents to Loup City, Neb., where they resided for several years.  They then came to Wisconsin, where she met and married Joseph Blazer on Jan. 9, 1895, in Richland County.  After their married they resided in Richland County until 1918, when they moved to the Redville community in Taylor County where she lived until 1945.  Since that time she had made her home in the Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) area.  Her husband preceded her in death on March 6, 1940.

 

Surviving are two sons, Bernard and Howard Blazer, both of Owen; one daughter, Mrs. Levi (Elizabeth) Dickinson, and nine grandchildren.

 

Four sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
